Reactivation of vasculitis after influenza vaccination.

چکیده
We believe this case to be an example of renal damage caused by the inhalation of toluene in glue. Renal failure has been recorded after the abuse of other solvents such as carbon tetrachloride2 and trichloroethylene.3 O'Brien et a14 reported a case of hepatorenal damage after inhalation of toluene from a liquid cleaner, but similar damage from the toluene in glue has not been recorded. Since this adhesive is now the most widely abused agent in the west of Scotland,' and probably in Britain, it is important to realise that renal damage may result from such abuse.

A case of leukocytoclastic vasculitis following influenza vaccination
LCV: leukocytoclastic vasculitis INTRODUCTION Leukocytoclastic vasculitis (LCV) is a small-vessel vasculitis that presents with palpable purpura, most often on the lower extremities. The most common identified triggers of LCVare infection or exposure to a new medication. However, in many cases, a cause cannot be identified. We present a patient who had LCV during the fall season of 2 consecutiv...
متن کاملMPO-ANCA associated vasculitis with mononeuritis multiplex following influenza vaccination
Background Although influenza vaccines are generally safe and effective, a variety of autoimmune phenomena have been reported after vaccination over the past years, such as Guillain-Barre syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, pemphigus vulgaris, psoriasis, giant cell arteritis and anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis (AAV). Case report We describe the case of a 67-year ...
متن کاملTransient Oculomotor Palsy after Influenza Vaccination: Short Report
Several neurological complications have been described after influenza vaccination. Oculomotor palsy has not been yet related with influenza vaccine. We report a 79-year-old man who developed an acute transient right oculomotor palsy two days after a routine influenza vaccination, for which no other cause was identified. There was no evidence of diabetes, glucose intolerance, high blood pressur...

متن کاملHenoch–Schönlein purpura in a renal transplant recipient with prior IgA nephropathy following influenza vaccination
Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a systemic small-vessel leucocytoclastic vasculitis with deposition of immune complexes containing Immunoglobulin A (IgA). IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) is a glomerulonephritis caused by mesangial deposition of IgA. The onset of HSP, but not IgAN, has been linked to influenza vaccination. We report the first case of HSP with glomerular involvement, in a renal transpla...
